Age of Conan pricing revealed

Category: PC, Posted: 04/23/2008 at 03:19PM CDT by Eddie Inzauto, Senior Editor

Age of ConanDeveloper Funcom has revealed the pricing structure for their MMORPG, Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, which is scheduled to hit store shelves on May 20th. An Aprill 22nd investor update states:

- The standard game SKU will have a Suggested Retail Price (SRP) of 59.99 USD in North America and 49.99 Euro in the European Markets.

- The subscription fee will be priced at 14.99 USD in North America and 15.99 Euro in the European Markets (plus VAT where applicable).

This monthly rate seems to be in line with other MMORPGs, but the retail box cost matches up more closely with Xbox 360 pricing than with current PC offerings (these are usually far less expensive than Funcom's SRP).

To make things more confusing, GameStop lists the PC version at $49.99 and the 360 version at $59.99, flying right in the face of the document.

GamerNode has contacted Funcom for clarification regarding this matter.

I Hope Anarchy Online will not become pay-2-play too.

Dont believe gamespot. The 360 version is not even CLOSE to being released and they have it up for preorder. Plus I dont mind that the PC version is 59.99. The game is huge and is the most graphically enchanced MMO in the market.

I wonder why GameStop still hasn't updated the pricing. Maybe because it was just announced this week? I'd give them a week after the announcement to update the pricing info before complaining, so I dunno why Eddie is complaining about it.
