Bill Gates knows that his 360 has had problems and promised to make his machine the most reliable game console out there in comments made to the BBC during the Consumer Electronics Show.
Gates said, "Well we certainly had to apologize to our users about the number of boxes that had to be replaced. We did that for free, for all those people, and we got a lot of positive feedback about the way we handled it."
As inconvenient as it was to have my very own Xbox 360 sent in for repairs, I'd have to agree. The customer service was pretty good. Microsoft provided shipping for the Xbox to and from the repair center, and not only fixed my Red Ring of Death, they replaced my 360 with a brand new one. But in saying this, some have experienced quite the opposite.
He pledged to make the 360 game console the most dependable of all--something that many Xbox owners have found lacking.
"We've got incredible reliability on the new work that we've done. Our commitment is that it will be the most reliable videogame box out there. People love the Xbox because of the content, but we've got to make sure the hardware never stands in the way of that."
Indeed.

I love hearing him call it a "video game box"!
lol. I guess when you own the whole company, you can pretty much call it whatever you want.
Good to see they are acknowledging the problems.
Also, very Teal'c of you with the end of the article there Frank =P
What can I say? He's a man of few words too. lol.
The first time I sent mine in it took like 3 weeks to get back to me. That one died 1 month later. Seems like they are using the 90 nm processors until they are all gone. A lot of my friends are on their 2nd or 3rd also.
You've got to give them credit for taking the problem seriously. The corporate wheels turn slowly at times, but they do turn.
