If waiting for your replacement PS3 Rock Band guitar is a bore but you own the PS3 version of Guitar Hero III, then you might be in luck.
This post on the Rock Band Forums mentions a new routine update to the game, which addresses issues related to the guitar controller.
"Available today is a routine update for the PLAYSTATION 3 version of Rock Band that addresses a number of items related to guitar controller compatibility. Should Rock Band owners choose to obtain the update, they will need broadband internet access connected to their PLAYSTATION 3. The update will be downloaded once the game is started."
But Shacknews confirmed with sources within EA that the patch also allows compatibility with the Gibson Les Paul PS3 wireless controller for Guitar Hero III.
The Xbox 360 Gibson Les Paul controller for Guitar Hero III has worked with the Xbox 360 version of Rock Band since the game's launch. Even though they had to wait a few more weeks, PS3 owners can breathe a little easier now.

IT seems like the ps3 needs to wait a few more weeks for everything guitar game based. Hmm, yet another selling point.
RI-I-IDGE RACER!!!
I'm surprised this wasn't available in the release version....very poor idea.
I have been involved in this issue since day one, and I can say that due to the way Harmonix has been handling all the issue spawned from this game, they are no better than your stereotypical used car salesmen or mugger; take your cash and dash!! They have not taken any responsibility for any of the issues, and have lacked any professionalism in their actions since release. Faulty peripherals, commuity site delay, no compatibility for PS3's, and best of all, they have been near completly silent about any of the issues.
Harmonix, it is time that I just admit the obvious...you guys have gone from the top, to the bottom and are now as accountable as Pelican products.
