Killzone 2, Sony's candidate to rival the likes of Halo 3, was revealed to the E3 '07 crowds and showed some pretty cool graphics and game play.
Rumors were floating around the game community that a public beta of K2 would be ready for the holidays. Now that would have been a nice present, but we'll all have to wait until next year instead.
Alex Armour at SCEA said, "We are hoping to do a beta but I don't think we'll have anything ready before this year is over... it is something we are working on for next year. "[We'll] keep in touch [as] we'll have more soon."
The original Killzone game, released in 2004 for the PS2, received mixed reviews and didn’t challenge the popularity of the Halo franchise as much as Sony hoped. In Killzone 2, with the power of the PS3 behind the game, they’re looking for a better showing than last time's faceoff against Halo, and for that matter, the highly acclaimed Gears of War too.

Too bad, This, from what I've seen, should be pretty good
killzone 1 was freakin awesome, i have high hopes for k2
I played killzone one, well i own it, but man was it difficult, but it looked RLY good for the ps2, and the fgameplay was at least solid. HELGHAN BRETHREN LIVE ON!
i really liked the first one so i suppose a delay could only mean it will get even better
Same here. I've got the original Killzone and actually enjoyed it. It had a good story line and the pacing of the game was pretty good too. But the shooter crowd didn't care for it as much.
