It's beginning to look like the Nintendo DS isn't the only hot item on the Japan market right now. That's because of the new hit release of Kingdom Hearts 2 brought to you by Square Enix. Square Enix shipped 1 million copies of their new game in Japan, beating the original Kingdom Hearts, which never reached 1 million copies shipped in Japan. KH2 was released in Japan on December 22, 2005 and reached the 1 million games shipped mark 3 days later. It is expected to be released on March 1, 2006 here in the United States. If you would like to compare this mark to something, think about the Final Fantasy series: in Japan, these titles usually reach the 2 million shipped mark in the first day. So although this isn't all that impressive, Kingdom Hearts 2 is expected to gain much more popularity then original title boasted. Square Enix hopes to ship at least 10 million copies of Kingdom Hearts 2 worldwide.
