Those lucky Japanese! The PlayStation 2 Final Fantasy XII Pack will be up for grabs on March 16th 2006. The game goes on sale the same day. The pack has no MSRP, meaning that if the Americans' reaction to the Xbox 360 launch was any indication, then prices for this combo can reach into the realm of body parts or small children. The pack includes the black slimline PS2 (SCPH-75000 FF) with an imprint of a picture/logo from the game on the console, as well as a vertical stand, Dual Shock controller, a Final Fantasy XII mobile phone strap, styrofoam packaging, and a copy of FF XII. The PS2 model included in the bundle (SCPH-75000 FF) uses the latest PS2 hardware, the same hardware which is reportedly buggy with some game software. No word given on the bundle coming to the States, and it would seem like yet another hot item for importers. Final Fantasy XII is slated for release in the second quarter of 2006.
