Those of us who played the mobster/horror game, The Darkness, were probably wondering if a sequel was going to be produced.
The game, based upon the TopCow graphic novels, followed the journey of Jackie Estacado, a hitman for the mob that, unfortunately, is taken over by an evil entity called, The Darkness.
But if you’re hankering for more of The Darkness, news of a sequel may have leaked, according to Dutch gaming site, Xbox360Only. The information was accidentally disclosed by an employee of TopCow to Dutch rapper, "Lycan-Strife." (The Dutch have rappers?)
Apparently, "Lycan-Strife" is a big fan of TopCow Comics and he actually produced a rap song in homage to The Darkness. A star struck worker at TopCow spilled the beans to the rapper and said that game developer, StarBreeze, is working on The Darkness 2. The rapper then told Xbox360only.com.
The sequel is expected to be released sometime next year or early 2009. At the moment, StarBreeze has neither confirmed nor denied the story.
