Results from a new study have revealed that women who play online games apparently find their gaming time more enjoyable than taking a bath, shopping, working out, and even having sex.
The survey, conducted with 2,052 people and commissioned by chipmaker Doritos, found that 49 percent of women play games online, almost identical to the 50 percent result for men.
Out of that percentage of women who play online, 84 percent said that they enjoy their gaming sessions as opposed to 70 percent who enjoy sex. This is also compared to 75 percent who enjoy taking a bath, 71 percent who enjoy shopping, and 62 percent who enjoy working out.
Women were also found in the study to spend slightly more time playing games online than men. Those surveyed showed that 23.1 of women’s time online is spent gaming in comparison to 22.3 percent for men.
The reason Doritos commissioned the study was so that it could coincide with the launch of the company’s Doritos Dip Desperado Facebook game.
"Social and mobile gaming is hugely popular and, as the survey reveals, amongst women as much as men," said Doritos Marketing Manager Hugo Amos. "We wanted to create a game that is fun and entertaining for everyone. It will be exciting to see who tops the Doritos Dip Desperado Facebook leaderboard over coming weeks."
