This week’s newly announced PC games and expansions will be pretty short. The week started out with the Memorial Day hoilday, so news was slow, therefore the news crunch was trimmed down. But if you’re a fan of Need for Speed or The Sims 2, then this week should fill your heart with delight.
GameIndustry reveals that Need for Speed ProStreet, the next title in the racing series and EA Black Box, will return as the game’s developer. The game is currently set for release this fall for the Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Nintendo DS, PSP, PC and mobile. Things that’ll return to the game include car damage, an upgraded AI system and an enhanced online mode for co-op game play.
I.G.G. (Internet Gaming Gate) announced an upcoming 3D "Hellenistic" MMORPG called Gods War (sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen — ed.) this past week. The game will be a fantasy-themed game based on Greek Mythology. Based on screenshots, the game will be styled in a cartoony, anime-like game design. There’s currently no release date.
As for expansion pack news, EA announced the 6th expansion pack for their long-running and ultra-popular simulation series The Sims 2. Dubbed The Sims 2: Bon Voyage, it’ll add vacations and new exotic locations–including tropical islands, camping and mountain climbing. The release date is set for September 17th.
