Halo 2 remains the most popular game on Xbox Live, despite the Xbox 360 being out for nearly a year and a half now, with games like Gears of War and Rainbow Six: Vegas ready to topple the goliath. Halo fans have something to hold them over until the release of the Halo 3 beta, though, with two new maps which will be released on April 17.
However, the two new maps will only be recreations of two fan-favorites from the original Halo; Hang ’em High and Derelict, now known as Tombstone and Desolation, respectively. Both maps have been tweaked, and at least Tombstone will see new features and hidden surprises.
This is premium content, though — you’ll need to plunk down $4 for the pair of maps. It’s a fairly reasonable price for Halo diehards, and will be available to both Xbox and Xbox 360 gamers through the in-game content downloader (i.e. these maps probably won’t show up on the Xbox Live Marketplace).
