DICE may be hitting the big time with its Battlefield franchise for the PC, but they are not forgetting the consoles. Today, EA/DICE announced Battlefield: Bad Company, a brand-new title in the FPS franchise just for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Focusing on a core single player campaign, the game will also feature the famed multiplayer that made past Battlefield console titles great.
The game will utilize an EA in-house engine titled Frostbite. As mentioned earlier, the game will focus on singleplayer combat and the game play will surround commanding a squad which prefers to shoot first and ask questions later. The action will be amped up. since the game environment will be 90% destructible, upping the tactics needed for both single and multiplayer. Karl Magnus Troedsson, Senior Producer at DICE continues that statement with, "In a world that’s 90 percent destructible, the game play possibilities are infinite–the battlefield is always changing, forcing players, teammates, and enemies to react accordingly. Gamers will have total freedom to adapt to and tackle challenges in creative Battlefield-style ways."
Battlefield: Bad Company will be released sometime next year.
