If going out to scavenge for candy on Halloween no longer has the same appeal for you that it used to, then perhaps you should consider picking up a copy of Neverwinter Nights 2, instead. Both Atari, Inc. and Obsidian Entertainment have announced that their highly anticipated sequel to Bioware’s best selling RPG has reached the gold stage of production, and is set to release nationwide on October 31 for the PC. The game will feature a vastly improved 3D engine, a deeply immersive single player and multiplayer mode, and of course, a brand new toolset which will allow players to create their own modifications.
"Neverwinter Nights 2 has been an incredible game to produce, as we have aimed from the beginning to develop an immersive gaming experience that will satisfy both the RPG and modding communities," said Feargus Urquhart, Obsidian Entertainment CEO. "Now that Neverwinter Nights 2 has gone gold, we are proud to say we are delivering a game that should exceed fans’ expectation."
