Konami’s has announced that its unique action game NeverDead will have gamers taking on hordes of demons as the immortal Bryce Boltzmann on January 31, 2012.
Though Bryce is immortal, that doesn’t mean he can’t be torn limb from limb, which is a crucial part of NeverDead‘s gameplay. Players will continue to fight without limbs, can use their limbs as weapons, and will then have to chase down and recover said lost limbs. If all of Bryce’s limbs and head are separated from his boy, players will have to roll around as the head to find the other body parts.
“In NeverDead, we’ve gone all out to change the approach the player takes in battle,” said Shinta Nojiri, the game’s creator. “Losing a limb is a mere inconvenience and Bryce’s physical skills allow a wealth of ways to take out the enemy – from close-range combat, to throwing limbs into clusters of monsters and shooting them remotely. This adds a level of humor to the game that brings the world-weary main character to life, while players revel in game worlds that are fully interactive and eminently destructible.”
The game will also have DLC, but Konami was not specific on what it would be.
When NeverDead launches January 31, it will be doing so on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
