As shown through our hands-on preview of the game, Heavy Rain will feature support for the PlayStation Move when the device launches this fall. Unfortunately for fans of the game’s story and characters, the decision to integrate Move support has meant an indefinite delay of the game’s "Chronicles" DLC.
"Chronicles are on hold as all the team is focused on HR Move," said Quantric Dream’s David Cage in an interview with NowGamer.
Heavy Rain‘s "Chronicles" DLC was designed to be three hour-long episodes that explained the backstory of the game’s main characters. It would have fleshed each of them out and given more insight into how they became who they are during the events of the main game. Sony, however, had other plans.
"Unfortunately, Sony preferred to ask us to focus on Move to support the device rather than on creating new content," said Cage. "On our side, we did not want to spend more time on HR, which would have meant delaying new projects. This is a decision I can understand, and I am certainly happy we had the opportunity to play with this device and to support it, although I am certainly disappointed for fans we could not finish the story of HR the way we intended."
As the delay is indefinite, it is now unknown whether or not the "Chronicles" DLC will ever be released.
