MLB 2K8. What to expect

mlb 2k8As baseball fever begins to sweep over fans across the nation, GamerNode was able to get a few words from MLB 2K8 producer, Ben Brinkman, on his new baseball videogame.

From the sounds of it, it looks like MLB 2K8 is going to have some nice improvements over last year’s game. The design team decided to incorporate as much realism into the game as possible thorough improved AI, physics, batting, catching, realistic player moves and baseball player statistics.

Incorporated into this year’s version is the ability for gamers to obtain achievements such as player cards. These cards can just be collected during the game for fun or can be used to play online battles with other gamers.

Brinkman said that the development team wanted to improve over last year’s game by adding, "…more content for the 360 and PS3…make it a new experience for people" by incorporating "all new AI for batting, pitching and throwing."

Although the game is primarily leveled at the hard-core baseball fan, the casual gamer should be able to enjoy it as well. The game provides ample in-game help. He said that there would be plenty of, "hints, tutorials, guides, but not so much as to get away from the baseball sim feel of everything."

There will be signature moves galore and virtually any player you use will have the distinguishing movements that set them apart from other players.

The 2K Sports development team wanted to make the game as real-life as possible. Dedicated connoisseurs of baseball will fully appreciate the detail in MLB 2K8.

Major League Baseball 2K8 will be available on March 3 for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, and PS2.
