Today, Microsoft unveiled Coolroom, an on-demand media channel available on Windows Vista, Xbox 360 and Windows XP Media Center. Mirroring on-demand TV services, Coolroom is, "aimed at film fans who want to enjoy digital entertainment on TV from the comforts of their own sofa."
In order to use Coolroom’s functions, you’ll be issued a unique PIN to download content directly to Coolroom’s Media Center, where all your stored programs and features are kept.
Also Coolroom will feature a 3D Coolroom, where people can personalize their own Coolroom and watch extra bonus features for their movies.
Mike Haigh, UK Windows client production manager, said, "With the added benefit of cross-platform compatibility, Coolroom is flexible and easy-to-use. It’s a great way for consumers to enjoy and experience personalised digital content."
