PlayStation’s "Home" acts as a virtual world for PlayStation users to interact in.
Not to be outdone, it would seem only natural for Microsoft to try and step their game up. Daniel Schiappa, Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devises General Manager, hinted that a similar virtual world for the Xbox 360 could be a reality within the next year.
During the Virtual Worlds Conference and Expo in San Jose, he stated "by next year, you’ll probably know more about why I’m up here. Not much, I know, but it is the VIRTUAL WORLDS conference."
Even as details about Sony’s Home were released, Microsoft took credit for many of the concepts stating, "they’ve definitely taken some concepts that we originated like achievements… it’s a cool world but it’s like a little game by itself."
We can only wait and see what Microsoft has in store.
