When the Nintendo DS first shipped, a demo of Metroid Prime: Hunters came in box and it served as the first taste of dual screen gaming for many. Quite some time has passed, and the retail version of the game has yet to ship which may anger those gamers that have been waiting so long to play something more substantial, but there’s now good news. No, Samas Aran didn’t save a bunch of money on car insurance, but her game will be the first DS title to support VoIP to communicate with each other.
Announced at the 2006 DICE Summit in Las Vegas, the chats can take place in pre and post lobbies, so others can’t hear you cursing while they beat you in the game. While it has already been known that players would be able to play online, the voice communication feature will no doubt add to the value. Metroid Prime: Hunters is scheduled to ship in March 2006.
