We all knew that Guitar Hero: Aerosmith would be just the beginning of Activision’s quest to create band-specific editions of their popular music and rhythm franchise. My greatest speculation regarding this matter has always been about which bands have a large enough library of songs (hit songs, preferably) to be worthy of such a spotlight.
According to an SEC filing discovered by Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Edward Woo, "In fiscal 2009, we plan to publish Guitar Hero: On Tour for the Nintendo DS; Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Guitar Hero: Metallica, and Guitar Hero IV across multiple platforms."
Metallica is certainly on the list of bands who I would have considered for this type of game, especially considering how central the guitar has been to their music, as an unbreakable rule. They have released numerous hit songs across nine studio albums, and have won many awards throughout their 27-year career.
