The buzz right now – which as of yet is unconfirmed conjecture (the best type) – is that the hotly anticipated sequel to the Metal Gear Solid franchise has been pushed back. It is regrettable to hear, considering it is probably one of the biggest reasons for many gamers to own a PlayStation 3.
Originally, the game was planned to be a launch title, but was delayed and then delayed again. The new rumored release date is March 1, 2008, meaning the Playstation 3’s (arguably) biggest game won’t be coming around for another 10 months. *sigh*
In the long run, though, delays of big-name games usually mean only good things for gamers. For the most part, things only get better, as the games are tweaked closer to perfection. Remember how much Ocarina of Time was delayed before it came out? Me too.
