Gearbox Software president Randy Pitchford recently told press that the once successful Medal of Honor franchise is now "in trouble."
Wow. Imagine that!
Pitchford began to criticize the franchise stating "I think they’re confused right now. They’re partially speaking not as a dedicated World War II game, but just as a game.
"I think if you’re going to just make a shooter, there’s other subject matter you can pick that give them more flexibility to do the kinds of things they’ve been wishing to do. Like upgrading weapons and things like that? That just doesn’t belong in an authentic war game."
It’s one of the risks you run for jumping on the World War II bandwagon. Medal of Honor is in no way trapped; look at the direction the Call of Duty franchise went. Anyone want to bet Medal of Honor will follow suit to stay alive?
