Despite being in limbo for quite some time, 20th Century Fox announced they’re blowing off the dust on the Max Payne movie project and they’re looking to begin film production within the coming months.
Collision Entertainment and Firm Films are still involved as the producing companies. Fox has had their eyes on Max Payne for quite sometime; they included the title on its slate of pre-strike projects. But other than that, nothing else was announced.
The latest game in the Max Payne series was 2003’s Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. Even though the game’s ending was ambiguous and Take-Two announced a coming third game, there hasn’t been any further announcements regarding the title.
Remedy Entertainment, the developer behind the Payne series, said they weren’t working on Max Payne 3.
