Wow, I’m surprised, two Max Payne movie updates in one week. The first one mentioned that 20th Century Fox is green-lighting the movie again after months of collecting dust but this next one adds some major credibility to the film.
Dark Horizons is reporting actor Mark Wahlberg has signed on to play Max Payne. Based on the events of the first game, Wahlberg will portray troubled cop Max Payne, after witnessing the tragic loss of his family along with investigating a new drug out on the streets.
The article also revealed that director John Moore will direct the movie. Moore, who headed films such as The Omen (2006’s remake), Flight of the Phoenix (2004) and Behind Enemy Lines (2001), will be working with a script written by Beau Thorne. Shooting will begin early next year.
What I want to know is: will Wahlberg use Payne’s signature grimace in the movie?
