Maguire Didn't Really Mean that the US is Cheap

Sony UK exec Ray Maguire got himself into a bit of a pickle last week when he described the US as a "massive land" with "cheap people," in his attempts to explain the economic differences between the citizens of the UK and US and how they deal with the high cost of the PS3. If his logic doesn’t quite make any sense to you, it also fell on the confused ears of US gamers as well.

Today, SCEA clarified his original remarks with 1UP that Maguire didn’t mean what he said. According to 1UP, "… he simply meant the cost of living and labor in the two countries are different."

Fair enough, but now we can look to Maguire’s remarks about the press being "lazy" because of the negative coverage the PS3 has received. But we know, he didn’t mean to say that either, right?
