Someone may have spilled the beans on an upcoming Lord of the Rings RPG title by Electronic Arts inadvertently. In an interview given to 3D Realms, Jim Norwood, formerly of Apogee Games, gave a statement that has now mysteriously disappeared from the original interview text. According to Eurogamer, Norwood was asked what he was up to these days, since leaving Apogee Games. The original answer to the question by Norwood was, "I’m currently on Lord of the Rings: The White Council at EA as a software engineer. It’s a new RPG game. That’s all public information, so feel free to look it up on the internet or EA’s website." Apparently, Norwood was mistaken as his information on the game was not public knowledge. Ooops. No information on EA™s website gives any indication of this new title either. In a possible attempt at damage control, the segment has been edited with him responding instead by saying, Making more games of course… I’m currently at EA as a software engineer. If Norwood™s first reported statements to 3D Realm are true, he may be knee deep in you-know-what as game developers have strict non-disclosure policies regarding their in-progress games. The punishment for such transgressions is usually dismissal. When EA UK was contacted about the supposed gaff, their response was no comment. No comment, says volumes, does it not?
