Media Molecule and United Front Games are teaming up to combine two great tastes that (hopefully) go well together in the form of LittleBigPlanet Karting for the PlayStation 3.
Siobhan Reddy, studio director at Media Molecule, announced the collaboration today with a statement and trailer (embedded below). United Front Games, maker of the popular ModNation Racers, is leading development on the game with access to Media Molecule’s toolset.
James Grieve, senior producer at United Front Games, talked about the experience that LittleBigPlanet Karting will offer.
“LittleBigPlanet Karting is set in an entirely 3D world that will enable players to create rich and varied gameplay experiences,” he explained. “Tons of familiar LBP gadgets will be present, along with a new toolbox specifically tailored to allow for building in LittleBigPlanet Karting’s 3D world.”
LittleBigPlanet Karting is currently set for release this year. We’ve contacted chocolate and peanut butter for comment on the possible loss of their “Best Combination” title and will update this post when we hear back.
