It’s been a long while since Listen Up shared some of the greatest music video games have to offer, so I wanted Listen Up’s return to be something special; something grand! I polled my fellow GamerNode writers, and we all came together to compile this: GamerNode’s Top 25 Soundtracks of the Current Console Generation!
The format for choosing games was simple: first, I had everyone nominate five games for consideration. Next, I took the top 25 suggestions (based on votes) and had the everyone fill out a “ballot” ranking their soundtracks from 1 to 25. After that, I gave each soundtrack a point value based on their rank: 25 points for being number one on a list, 24 for number two, and so on. I also had seven other GamerNode writers contribute their opinions to some of the soundtracks, so look for their names at the end of each opinion.
The list that follows is the end result of this long process, but it’s been well worth it. It’s now time for GamerNode’s Top 25 Soundtracks of the Current Console Generation!
