Left Behind Games execs are left behind

There is a shakeup at the office headquarters of Left Behind Games as CEO Troy Lyndon is demanding the resignation of three board members from the company. Vice President Jeffery Frichner has already turned in his papers to step down from his post.

The game company publishes RTS games based upon prophecies related to the end of the world and pits the demonic forces of Hell against the armies and spiritual forces of good. The games have drawn heavy criticism from religious groups because of its violent gameplay and controversial depiction of certain religions in the title. Calls and letters to Wal-Mart from concerned citizens and groups have called upon the giant big box retailer and others to stop selling the game. Left Behind Games reported third quarter losses of $4.1 million at the end of December 2006.

In the meantime, Michael Knox and Leslie Bocskor have agreed to shore up the company board by acting as fill-in co-chairs on the board of directors. Knox said, "I am delighted to have the potential opportunity to work with Troy Lyndon again, as our last experience together resulted in numerous successes."

No word has come from Left Behind Games as to why the resignations were called for in the company.
