It looks like Ubisoft will be pulling back the launch dates of three high profile titles for 2008–but not by a whole lot.
The three titles are Far Cry 2, Brother in Arms: Hell’s Highway and Tom Clancy’s Endwar (previously scheduled for a March launch.) No exact release dates have been mentioned except that the titles will be probably available sometime in the third quarter of the fiscal year which begins in April.
Some speculate that the move by Ubisoft to delay the release of the titles is not because the games are not ready, but maybe a move to spread out development costs and profits to other fiscal quarters–which makes for better looking business reports.
In any event, Ubisoft can probably afford to hold off on these games with the very successful showing of their blockbuster hit, Assassin’s Creed, that is expected to reach at least 5 million copies in sales.
