L.A. Noire Launch Trailer shows corruption in the LAPD

L.A. Noire

In the final trailer put onto the Web before L.A. Noire‘s release, players get a closer look into the storyline that follows one of the game’s five police desks, Vice. The new video acts as a means to show that not everything is as it seems in Los Angeles.

During thier investigations on the Vice beat, protagonist Detective Cole Phelps and his partner Roy Earle discover a trail of corruption that takes them from investigating drug dealers to questioning the true motives and actions of those in the highest offices in LAPD. Among those corrupted and dirty could include Phelps’ boss in the department, Captain Donnelly, thus possibly giving a nod and drawing a parallel to the 1997 hit noire film "L.A. Confidential".

L.A. Noire hopes to successfully take the genre into the world of video games next week when it releases for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 17 in North America and May 20 in Europe.
