The Kinect flew out of the gate exceeding expectations in Japan selling 26,000 units. So basically, every person who owns an Xbox 360 in Japan bought a Kinect.
Of course, it’s an exaggeration to say that only 26,000 people own Xbox 360’s in Japan, but it is not an exaggeration to say that the console has been struggling in the country since it’s launch. The Kinect could be an indicator of the system finally finding a Japanese audience.
The Kinect showed strong US sales as well already moving more than one million units.
