Juicy Assassin's Creed game details

AssassinsCreedGuyEurogamer got to sit down with the charming, Jade Raymond, the producer of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed for some chatting. Among the topics covered were the demo date, comparisons to other Ubisoft games, and different in-game tactics.

Raymond elaborated a little bit on the upcoming release of the demo, which will be in mid-July. It’ll coincide with this year’s E3 and will showcase the new cities not shown in the released trailers, such as Damascus.

After dodging some questions regarding the conspiracy-laced storyline, she stated that Assassin’s Creed won’t tie-in to other Ubisoft titles, "No, there isn’t. The thing we’re doing with Assassin’s Creed is we created a brand new franchise…So it’s not any other Ubisoft games; it’s really like stuff that I can’t talk about [laughs]."

Speaking about connections to other games though, players can immediately see the similarities between Assassin’s Creed and another Ubisoft game, Splinter Cell: Conviction.

Yes, there are similarities about the crowd mechanics, but there are diffreences too — for example, both games are built on different engines–a brand-new engine for Assassin’s Creed but the Splinter Cell engine for Conviction. Also Ubisoft considers crowd mechanics as "one of the big promises of the next-gen".

Raymond then talked about the different in-game tactics. While you can be the ultimate badass by storming through guards and swiping away, you can also be the more stealthy-type of assassin and use the different resources presented to you.

So by helping some trapped women, their husbands will stop the guards from pursuing you because of your helpful actions. Raymond said, "…so there’s all kinds of things like that. There are elements of the crowd who will not be on your side, but there are other people who can help out later."

Assassin’s Creed is expected in November for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Don’t forget to check out GamerNode’s comments about the recent Ubidays trailer.
