UPDATE:The PlayStation Blog has given some new information, including pricing. I’ve added it to the bottom of the original story.
ORIGINAL: The next batch of DLC for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale has been unveiled by IGN, as Isaac Clarke from Dead Space and Zeus from God of War will be entering the fray.
Isaac Clarke is a mid-range character much in the vein of Nathan Drake and Radec, using firearms and other equipment from his games to keep foes at a distance. Zeus, meanwhile, is a behemoth able to charge all of his attacks for more damage and make copies of himself to confuse foes.
A new DLC stage has also been announced, one that mixes the PS1 classic Medievil with a more recent PlayStation exclusive, The Unfinished Swan. Early screenshots make it seem as if the stage will frequently transition from spooky graveyard to a white screen with black dots flying around, creating yet another unique stage to wage war in.
I enjoy these two new inclusions (Zeus in particular is the kind of surprise I like to see in my fighters) but they’re only prolonging the inevitable Crash Bandicoot reveal. Come on guys. Just get it over with.
The DLC is due out March 19th for both PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. Each character will be $4.99 sold separately, but those who buy God of War: Ascension on March 12th will receive a free voucher for both characters (vouchers still have to wait a week, however). The “Graveyard” stage will be priced at $1.99.
