It may come as a surprise to many readers when I say that the story for Heavenly Sword 2 has already been written. The first Heavenly Sword isn’t even scheduled for release until later this year, but according to Ninja Theory co-founder Tam Antoniades, the title was originally planned as a trilogy.
"When we set out to do Heavenly Sword … we wanted it to be a three-game story. We’ve had the story for the sequel for awhile now. Hopefully if this game is successful, then there’s no reason why there shouldn’t be a sequel and we’d very much like to go into that."
Sounds like a good plan, because the game looks excellent. The combat system was recently revealed to be deeper and more complex than many might have thought, and the game’s visuals look absolutely stunning.
I have yet to try this game out, but if it fits the popular description, "Goddess of War," then I’m sure it will be worthy of at least one sequel.
