The maker of Rock Band and Guitar Hero, Harmonix, is planning to reveal a brand-new game tomorrow. Additionally, the developer promises that it’s not a new Rock Band or Dance Central title and appears to be a new IP.
Harmonix broke the news via its official Twitter account, which stated, “Harmonix is announcing a new game tomorrow (it’s not RockBand or Dance Central). Stay tuned for the exciting news!”
The studio remained tight lipped when asked by a fan on the social media site whether or not the new title is even “music-related.” That tidbit is interesting considering that in August 2012, the studio posted a job opening for a combat designer.
Nearly a year ago, in June 2012, Harmonix director of communications and brand management John Drake also hinted that some of the studio’s new titles wouldn’t be “full-on rhythm action games” and will feature “new, crazy stuff.”
“Some of them are brand new things that we created from our guts and brains here at Harmonix,” said Drake. “Some of them are sort of like things we’re explaining the universe of.”
Harmonix also wouldn’t give any information about the exact time the announcement would take place tomorrow, telling a fan concerned over missing it that they hope he catches it.
