Halo book cover art revealed

Halo 3Tor Books has revealed the cover art for the upcoming novel based on the ever-popular Halo videogames. The book is called Halo: Contact Harvest and was written by Bungie’s own Joseph Staten – one of the original creators of the Halo Trilogy. Staten has been a writer and cinematics director for every Halo game to date.

Said Tor Editor Eric Raab, "It goes without saying that Joseph has great, intimate knowledge of the Halo universe, so who better to tell the harrowing tale of humanity’s first contact with the Covenant? In the novel, Joseph not only reveals exciting nuances of known events and characters such as Sgt. Johnson. But he also breaks new ground –takes readers on an action-packed journey to a little-known but vital part of the Halo universe: the far-flung, ill-fated word of Harvest."

Contact Harvest is the tale of humanity’s first contact with the covenant, and the beginning of conflict between the two groups. The entirety of the story is written from the perspective of Staff Sergeant Avery Johnson – Master Chief’s legendary mentor.

Halo: Contact Harvet is due to hit store shelves on October 2nd, and should be considered required reading for all dedicated Halo fans – especially those eager to learn the origins of the war with the Covenant.
