Yep, someone has already beaten Bungie’s masterpiece, and lived to tell the tale. Who is this lucky person? Why Official Xbox Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Francesca Reyes.
Ms. Reyes traveled to Bungie and was given something any journalist (or Halo fan) would die for — full access to Halo 3’s single player campaign. When asked what it felt like to be one of this first people to play and beat the most anticipated game of this holiday season, Mrs. Reyes said it was one of the best moments of her career.
"I was happy, yes – but it didn’t really hit me until I was back in San Francisco and eating a big bowl of ramen at some neighborhood joint. I sat there at the table with my bowl of ramen and a copy of Wired (the one with Master Chief on the cover which I bought for the flight home) – and I thought to myself: Wow. I can’t believe I just did something that hundreds of thousands of people have been waiting years to do. I can’t believe I just did something that I’VE been waiting years to do. It was one of those epiphany moments when I got really, really happy and realized how much I loved my job."
No doubt the experience was surreal. The worst part about this though? We have to wait fourteen more days until Halo 3 is released. Anyone else thinking these will be the longest two weeks of our lives?
