Gran Turismo mastermind Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed in an interview that development for Gran Turismo 6 has already begun. When asked if the winner of this year’s SEMA Gran Turismo award (1969 Chevy Camero) would be included in Gran Turismo 6, Yamauchi replied, "Right." He was later asked if development was underway, responding "Yeah" but then went on to add, "It took 2,000 days to get all the ideas that went into GT5. It’s just too early to be talking about GT6."
For those still wondering about Gran Turismo 5, Yamauchi explained the delay was "to adjust it so it would be perfect," and assured that a new release date will be announced soon. With developer Polyphony Digital getting a head start on the newest entry in the series let’s hope Gran Turismo 6 doesn’t take another five years to come out.
