In a recent press release Microsoft confirmed Gears of War 3 will be released in the UK September 20, 2011, coinciding with its release in North America.
The game is set to conclude the ongoing story of its two predecessors and promises to contain a host of new maps, modes and weapons.
Thus far the multiplayer maps Trenches, Overpass, Mercy, Checkout, and Thrashball have been confirmed.
Additionally, the game will include a mysterious new multiplayer feature entitled "Beast Mode" that will put players in control of members of the Locust Horde.
Finally, as is the case with all new shooters, Gears of War 3 is set to have at least six new weapons each with its own execution.
To date the Bayonet Charge, Retro Lancer, Sawed-off Shotgun, OneShot, Incendiary Grenade and Digger Launcher have been confirmed.
The official multiplayer beta is set to launch "soon", so keep your eyes on Xbox LIVE for a chance to be one of the first to play the game’s multiplayer.
