Cliff Bleszinski, Gears of War series’ Design Director, tweeted today that Gears of War 3 has been finished. Epic Games celebrated today with a cake that resembled the Gears of War 3-branded Xbox 360.
Originally slated for an April release, Gears of War 3 is the conclusion to the epic trilogy; Marcus Fenix has a lot on his hands. The last human city has been destroyed and Fenix must protect the remaining survivors while fighting off the Locust horde. The Lambent will also make a return and be a bigger threat than ever to the COG remnant.
The game will feature 4-player co-op and be available in three different editions. You can pick up the Standard Edition for $59.99, the Limited Edition for $79.99, and the Epic Edition for $149.99. The Epic Edition will feature a limited-quantity Marcus Fenix statue.
You can help fight the Locust horde when the game is released September 20 for the Xbox 360.
