Yes, Sony’s very own "fridge door with dildos as controllers" has outsold Nintendo’s "dual-Gamecube wrapped in duct tape" for not one, but TWO weeks in a row now…in Japan. Is the world still turning? Is it possible that the land of the rising N has even slightly switched focus?
Well, numbers don’t lie, and for the week ending November 18th, the PS3 sold 53,000 units, with the Wii shifting only 36,000. Of course the handhelds outperform everything, though. The DS sold nearly as much as the two home consoles combined, clocking in at 81,000, and the PSP remained strong, selling 66,000 units.
The Xbox 360 trailed the pack, shifting only around 5,000 consoles – even less than the 8,000 PS2s that were taken home by consumers throughout the week.
