A demo for Flight Simulator X, Microsoft’s next game in their long running flight simulator franchise, was released yesterday. The demo features two airports and three levels set on the island of St. Maarten (GamerNode’s favorite vacation spot) from the game. Unfortunately though, there is a 30 minute playing limit attached to the demo, so if you want to fly the skies, better do it in half an hour. One of the airports features Saba, one of the world’s smallest commerical paved runways. Try landing on a 400 meter runway, we couldn’t.
The game is set for an October release, though Microsoft still mentions a Holiday 2006 release date window. Upon its release, the game will feature support for DirectX10 and Windows Vista.
