Felicia Day to star in Dragon Age Web series

The actress of The Guild fame will stars in Dragon Age: Redemption.

Felicia Day, videogame celebrity and creator of "The Guild", has been revealed today as both the writer and star of a newly announced and upcomming Web series, "Dragon Age; Redemption".

Set in Ferelden and running six episodes in length, Day will play the role of Tallis, and Elven assassin tasked with finding a renegade magician.

"Tallis is headstrong, she fights dirty, and she has a really sarcastic sense of humor," she said of her character. "I wanted to bring a modern sensibility to a fantasy character in a fantasy world."

As a big fan of Dragon Age: Origins and someone who is aware of the failure that comes with a majority of these adaptations, Day has been dedicated to making sure "Redemption" won’t follow suit.

"I put every single effort into making this something that gamers will be proud of," she stated. "Even though we were constrained a lot as a Web series, none of the people who were involved took that as a constraint. They took that as a challenge."

BioWare saw that dedication in Day when they were thinking of doing the project, and that’s why the developer gave it to her.

"We are really, really excited to work with people like her who have a passion and appreciation for the content and a really good history of quality," said BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk. "That’s who we want to work with."

"Redemption" is already in post-production as filming took place last month. Peter Winther, associate producer on "Independence Day", is the project’s director and John Bartley ("Lost") is its cinematographer.

Day, who is also a co-producer for the series, mentioned how much she appreciated being given the opportunity to create this part of Dragon Age lore.

"Just being able to make a Web series that is tied with such a huge property … really the premier role-playing game out there, this is a dream project come true," she said.
