In light of FASA Interactive’s closure back in September, FASA founder Jordan Weisman formed his own development studio called Smith & Tinker Inc.
In a move that will surely surprise and please fans, Weisman announced that Smith & Tinker has licensed from Microsoft the rights to MechWarrior, Shadowrun, Crimson Skies and other properties from FASA’s catalog.
Before its closure, FASA developed MechCommander, MechCommander 2, MechWarrior 4, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge and Shadow Run.
The announced states, "We’re not quite ready to announce our plans for each property, but please be assured that our goal is to surprise and delight old fans, while welcoming new fans to these fantastic worlds."
It’s currently unknown how this will affect an upcoming Crysis mod called MechWarrior: Living Legends, which got an okay from Microsoft back in September.
