If you think you’re a sports trivia guru and can eat the competition in a single gulp, you’ll have your chance to prove it by going head-to-head with sports fans around the nation in EA Sports GameShow.
Think of this as an online version of a sports Trivial Pursuit game and you’ll understand the mechanics of how this game works.
The game was demonstrated by none other than EA Sports newly crowned king – Peter Moore, formerly of Microsoft. Moore took the stage at EA’s lavish auditorium during EA’s Studio Showcase ’07 event and demoed the game for the attending press.
He kept the audience entertained with his witty banter and from the first looks, it should prove to be a really fun and easy game to get into.
The online title will feature a live DJ game host who will read and direct the show. Up to six contestants will be able to play each round and points are scored for correct answers. The questions come fast and furious and it will, no doubt, be a great game for Friday night beer and pizza fests.
EA says, "EA SPORTS GameShow allows participants from around the country to compete head to head, answering a series of multiple choice questions related to the world of sports. The live game show host will facilitate each session, streamed over the Internet in real-time.
"Questions will be presented through a variety of media, including text, audio and video. Players will also be able to track their performance instantly, with prize incentives. The online sports trivia game will also feature customizable avatars and leader boards, with call outs to regional and national winners."
What else could be better than that? How about it being a free PC download? Yup. EA is giving this game away. Expect it to hit sometime this fall.
