A short while ago, EA announced the release of the first expansion for Command & Conquer 3, C&C3: Kane’s Wrath. As EA put it, the expansion "stars everyone’s favorite villain: Kane."
The campaign in Kane’s Wrath follows Kane’s fall after the 2nd Tiberium war, chronicles his participation in the 3rd war, and moves beyond that. Obviously, live cinematics will be aplenty, and Kane will return in all of his bald glory.
One new feature of Kane’s Wrath is the Global Domination Metagame. Described as Risk but on steroids, Global Domination allows you to conquer the world one step at a time. After moving your units to a new area, if they collide with opposing forces, you’re brought down into the action. When the battle is finished, the losses and casualties persist, and the game continues.
Along with the new feature, each core faction will have new units, structures, and upgrades, as well as two subfactions which will also have their own units and upgrades. EA did this to add more variety to multiplayer, and to cater to more playing styles.
Speaking of multiplayer, Kane’s Wrath will come with over two dozen new multiplayer maps featuring a variety of locales.
If you’re a 360 owner, don’t fear, because Kane’s Wrath will be simultaneously released in early ’08 on both the PC and 360. 360 owners also get a little something extra, in the form of the radio interface, which allows you to manage your base from anywhere on the map.
