Activision held their press conference during E3 ’07 and showcased plenty of awesome games including Guitar Hero III and Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground.
First up, Robin Kaminsky, executive vice president of publishing for Activision, praised Sony for the price cut of the PlayStation 3 and praised the "future" success of the Wii and DS.
The first game shown was Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground. It’ll feature new additions, including an enhanced "nail the trick" mode along with the new "nail the grab" and "nail the manual" modes. New features include a "timed-based kick mechanic", in which if performed correctly, will allow players to gain more speed, a new street move that knocks people out of the way and a video editor for players to create their own skate videos.
Bee Movie the Game– Xbox 360 visuals and sound are "top notch" and the Wii controlling was specifically made for the game.
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars — the demo was played on an Xbox 360 and a new map was shown called Reversion Island, a facility that holds data on the first Strogg gate. In-game missions are getting the star treatment so players won’t get lost while playing. There are also specific objects to use while playing to achieve missions properly.
Activision officially announced Spider-Man: Friend or Foe. Spider-Man will travel the world (Tokyo, Nepal, Egypt) to battle villains. The game will be targeted to "younger fans". Also the game will feature cooperative gameplay.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is next; a new trailer was shown of a mission called "Crew Expendable". It showed troops being dropped from helicopter onto a boat during a storm. The team kills the crew and takes over the boat. The next mission shown was called "Charlie Don’t Surf"; the helicopter picks up the crew from the boat and onto land where the team kills enemies in a rather coordinated assault.
Last up is Guitar Hero III. Some developers say one of the main focuses is the social aspect; they want people to enjoy the game in parties. Also, they said that this time around, music artists have been coming to them to appear in the game, not the other way around.
A new addition to the game are special moves; in multiplayer, opposing players can use special moves to disrupt the other player; for example cause a string to break which renders some buttons useless for the other player for a period of time.
