Sega’s executive vice president of sales and marketing Alan Pritchard told Game Informer in their recent January issue that the former console maker is going to release a Dramcast collection title that will compile some of the system’s most popular games.
Pritchard dropped the information when asked about rumors of a Dreamcast 2 being in the works.
"The Dreamcast fans are very devoted," replied Pritchard. "You see on eBay people are still buying the games and system. We actually have a Dreamcast collection coming out soon. We are looking to bring some of the old Dreamcast games to market digitally and packaged. The titles are still to be announced."
He referenced the succes of the company’s Ultimate Genesis Collection as the reason a Dreamcast collection can now be made.
"The Ultimate Genesis Collection did huge numbers on PS3 and 360, so it’s an important part of our business," Pritchard continued. "We’ve already been releasing some Dreamcast games digitally; Crazy Taxi [for one]."
Finally, he denied any knowledge that Sega is looking into a second Dreamcast system.
"Unless there’s something I don’t know – no one has told me about getting back into the console business," Pritchard stated.
