Dante admirers and demon slayers across the globe need not fear, since the anticipated Devil May Cry reboot appears to be proving its commitment to loyal fans of the series with some free DLC.
DmC: Devil May Cry, which comes out next week, is to receive free post-launch DLC in the form of the much-loved “Bloody Palace” mode. Featured throughout the series, “Bloody Palace” takes “Dante and players through a survival gauntlet of more than 100 levels of demon-crushing, boss-rushing action”. To access it, the mode requires completing the game, but Capcom insists this is a good thing as “you’ll probably be thankful for the experience–not to mention the superior weapon and move loadout–when you make your first foray into this very challenging mode”.
The upcoming reboot had come under criticism for the controversial redesign of protagonist Dante, as well as the shift in development from Capcom to Ninja Theory.
However, the attitude towards DmC: Devil May Cry seems to be more positive now. As this recent news suggests, the violent action and challenging hack n’ slash brilliance that has defined the series likely won’t be going anywhere with Ninja Theory’s reboot.
