Dell is moving into Apple’s arena with a brand new 30″ LCD display monitor for PCs. The new Dell UltraSharp 30″ Widescreen Monitor is currently being showcased at CES along with their XPS 600 Renegade PC. The display being used in this model is a much newer design than Apple’s, which provides for better performance. Besides sporting a huge 30″ display, this new monitor can support resolutions of up to 2560×1600, has an 11ms response rate, 700:1 contrast ratio, integrated SM/SD/MS/MMC/CF card reader, four USB 2.0 ports, and HDCP. HDCP means that you should be able to view HD-DVD protected content at full resolution on this monitor when using Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Vista. The monitor is currently priced at a hefty $2199, which is actually $300 cheaper than Apple’s solution. Just combine this monitor with Dell’s new Renegade PC, and you’ve got yourself one insane gaming rig.
